Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slower paced, deep stretch practice that combines floor poses with mindful meditation, to open the body and calm the mind. In Yin Yoga poses are held for longer periods of time in order to go beyond the muscular layer and access the deeper structural layer of the body which are the bones, joints, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue. By placing the Yin tissue under a controlled amount of duress, Yin Yoga provides you with a greater freedom of movement  and an overall sense of ease.

Whilst targeting the deeper layers, Yin yoga also increases the health and function of all the major organs including the heart, lungs, stomach, liver, kidneys, gall bladder and urinary bladder.

Yin yoga can be of great benefit to people that have tight areas in their body,  are carrying an injury,  partake in sport, or experience high levels of stress. The meditation aspect of the practice, is a powerful tool that can be used  to manage stress, improve performance at work or on the sporting field, and as a catalyst for bringing about behavioural changes. For class location and times click on BOOK NOW.

Hatha Yoga

The Hatha Yoga class use the traditional poses  of the ancient Yoga practice. Hatha is translated as ha meaning “sun” and tha meaning “moon.” This refers to the balance of masculine aspects—active, hot, sun—and feminine aspects—receptive, cool, moon—within all of us. Hatha yoga is the practice of balancing these aspects to create a strong body, an open heart and a focused mind.

The Hatha sequences aim to improve flexibility, core stability, overall body strength, and create a stability of focus. All poses are linked with yogic breathing practices, to balance the nervous system, and leave you feeling energised. For class location and times click on BOOK NOW.
